I am a researcher and designer from Turkey, living in Norway. As a researcher I am interested in craft, DIY and design cultures, production techniques; and try to observe the intersections between contemporary design culture, traditional production methods and forms. For my projects I mainly find forms through study models / mock-ups, trying different materials and techniques with hand, and use everyday life situations / cultural-non cultural habits for inspiration.
I try to reshape conventional forms in accordance with the contemporary habits of the society. I frequently use geometrical, sharp forms and combine them with elements from nature. I like to mix bright colors and fun, vague shapes together, that’s why a part of my work is about toys and accessories, which gives me the opportunity to work with different shapes and create more sculptural products.
I studied industrial design in Eskisehir, Turkey between 2009-2015, during this time I interned in 2 design studios in Madrid and Barcelona, spent exchange semesters in Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja and Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique.
I finished my pedagogical formation in 2016. I have an MSc degree from Izmir Institute of Technology, in Industrial Design  (2017), and was a research/teaching assistant in Istanbul Bilgi University between 2016-2020, assisting and co-teaching in studio and technical studio courses.
I now work at the design department of NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) as a practice-based PhD research fellow. I am working on trying to understand wool and traditional knowledge.
